NATCHEZ – Services for Anita Evans Voss, 84, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Revs. David O’Connor and Alfred Camp officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Voss was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Natchez, the daughter of Charles E. and Annie Guido Evans. She was a long-time resident of Natchez. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and was devoted to her family. She retired from BellSouth after 35 years of service.

Mrs. Voss was a member of St. Mary Basilica and The Telephone Pioneers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Voss; sisters, Elspie Aldredge, Theresa Eschete, Sister Cornelia Evans; and brother, Dave Whitlock.

Survivors include her daughter, Anita Voss Souderes and husband, George, both of Natchez; grandchildren, Rhonda Stevens and husband, Ricky, both of Natchez, and George Souderes III and wife, Cassie, both of Vidalia; great-grandchildren, Julia Voss Stevens, Matthew Fredrerick Souderes, Leah Lynn Stevens, Anna Wright Stevens, Roby Nolan and Richie Stevens; a number of nieces and nephews; and her very special caregivers, Laura Hardin, Evelyn Reed, Annie Walters and Bertha Walters.

Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Basilica or Cathedral School.
