NATCHEZ — Services for the Rev. Willie Green, 85, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today at the church with a memorial tribute at 7 p.m.

Rev. Green was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Adams County, the son of Albert and Ruth Green. He was a Baptist minister and was the pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was also the pastor of Southwood Lodge Baptist Church, Mount Zion Baptist Church and Zion Hill No. 2 Baptist Church. He was pastor emeritus of Pilgrim Baptist Church and was a member of John G. Jones Lodge No. 3.

Rev. Green was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He retired from the Adams County courthouse.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Allena Green; his parents; children, Willie Albert Green and Carolyn Lambert; and brothers, David Green and Andrew Lee Green.

Survivors include his children, Flora Terrell and husband, William, Ruby Lucas, Juanita Jones and husband, Albert, Allena Johnson, Eddie Green and wife, Panella, Alma Murray, Raymond Green and wife, Peggie, all of Natchez, and Richard Green and wife, Linda, both of Vidalia; aunt, Pearlie Green; brothers-in-law, the Rev. Bennie York and wife, Velma, both of Fort Wayne, Ind. and the Rev. Dave York of Natchez; sons-in-law, Freddrick Murray of Natchez and retired PSGT John Lambert of Killeen, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; a number of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be members of M.W.W.T.M. Grant Jr. Grand Lodge AF&AM.

Honorary pallbearers will be past and present deacons of the churches he pastored and his grandchildren.
