MEADVILLE – Services for Leon Goodson, 90, of Fayette, who died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital, in Meadville, will be at 2 p.m. today at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Sarepta Church Cemetery, in Franklin County, under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Goodson was born Dec. 12, 1917, in Jefferson County, the son of Walter Leon Goodson and Loni Lee Goodson. He was a member of Sarepta Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; four sisters; and his first wife, Myrtle Ruth Goodson.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel Goodson of Fayette; son, Jimmy Lynn Goodson of Fayette; stepsons, Armon Whittington and Paul Whittington, both of Hazelhurst; daughters, Barbara Freeman of Roxie, Nina Granger of Brookhaven and Ann Difranco of Hammond, La.; sisters, Mary Helen Pierce of Summit and Willie B. Meyer of Jacksonville, Fla.;15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
