Virginia Broussard

EVERGREEN, La. — Services for Virginia Quarles Pearce Broussard, 86, who died in Natchez after a lengthy illness, will be at 11 a.m. today at Bayou Rouge Baptist Church, in Evergreen, La., with the Rev. David Trembur officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home in Bunkie, La.
Mrs. Broussard was born Nov. 28, 1921, the daughter of S. Edwin and Bella Pearce. She graduated from Louisiana Technical Institute with a bachelor’s degree in home economics. She retired after many years of teaching home economics in the Avoyelles Parish Schools. She was a devoted mother and a devout Christian.
Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sidney M. Broussard; sisters, Mary Louise Hart and Barbara May Wilson; and daughter, Alice Virginia Olin.
Survivors include her sons, Arthur Edwin Person and wife, Lydmyla, both of Natchez and Stephen Milliken Person and wife, Kelli, both of Lafayette; daughter, Amy Elizabeth Mayhall and husband, Eddie; brother, William Stephen “Stebo” Pearce, all of Evergreen, La.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
