NATCHEZ — Services for Laura Hatton Griffin, 84, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at West Jefferson Hospital in Marerro, La., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Flower Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at Second Union Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Davis Mortuary Incorporated in Gretna, La.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Griffin was born April 21, 1923, in Tensas Parish, the daughter of the Rev. James Hatton and Clara Hatton. She was a member of Second Union Baptist Church where she served on the mother’s board. Mrs. Griffin was also a member of St. Claire Lodge No. 23 Order of Good Samaritans, LF&C Society and Second Union Baptist Church Sick Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five children; three brothers; three sisters; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas Wayne Griffin and fiancee, Marie, Lee Arthur Griffin and Kenneth Griffin and wife, Traci, all of Natchez, Lionel Griffin of New Orleans and Johnny Griffin of North Carolina; daughters, Mildred Jackson and husband, Joe, both of New Orleans and Linda Montgomery and husband, Riley, both of Natchez; a daughter she raised as her own, Martha Verret; and goddaughter, Janie Isaac.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
