Natchez — Services for Wanda Amy White, 91, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Riverland Medical Center Ferriday, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home with Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Ms. White was born January 21, 1916, in Tyronza, Ariz.
Her family moved to Louisiana in 1927 and later to Whitehall Plantation near Vidalia.
She graduated from Vidalia High School in the late 1930s.
Ms. White’s first work experience was for Wilson Farms and Whole Co. in Oceola, Ark.
She returned to Anchor Plantation in Catahoula Parish and 1943 and began her 41-year-long career with Concordia Electric.
Ms. White was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Sicily Island, and a member of Lousiana Cooperative Accountants Association.
She especially enjoyed her family and her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Earl White; her mother, Maxie Lee Estes White; and siblings Claude Earl White, Jr., Dick E. White, Rose Mary Schreiber and Bettie Sue Shumway.
Survivors include siblings Rodney Ray White of Longville, La.; Paul and his wife Mary Lou White of Monroe, La.; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Floyd Mahaffey, Normal Jones, Richard White, Dr. Kelley E. White, Robin Simple and Dick Junkin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Paul White, R.G. Price, Albert Forrester, Barry Richard, L.E. England and Dr. Herman Gibson.
Ms. White’s family will receive friends at Young’s Funeral Home from noon until the time of the service.
