NATCHEZ – Services for Celia Stewart Coulston, 99, of Natchez, who died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow on the Coulston family land, 544 Lower Woodville Road, under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Coulston was born in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Kamandal Stewart and Mary Smith Stewart. She was educated in Adams County and was a housekeeper. Mrs. Coulston was a member of Bright Morning Star Baptist Church where she served on the mother’s board and was a member of the Busy Bee Club. She enjoyed attending church, gardening and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; four sons, Willie Coulston Sr., Sam Coulston Jr., Berry Coulston Sr. and William Earl Coulston; one daughter, Mary Ruth Hammond; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; six brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Anderson of Houston, Henrietta Dobbins and Adeline Chatman, both of Natchez; one son, Leroy Coulston of Natchez; granddaughter she raised, Patricia Murphy and husband, Chris, both of Winter Garden, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Joyce Coulston and Estelle Coulston; one son-in-law, Frank J. Chatman Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Annie Stewart of Natchez and Johnnie B. Stewart of Detroit; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
