NATCHEZ – Services for Gloria Jean Anderson Adams Johnson, 51, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Birdon Mitchell Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Zion Watch Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 17, 1956, in Natchez, the daughter of Charles Anderson and Ora Newell Anderson Griffin. She was a graduate of North Natchez High School and Alcorn State University. Mrs. Johnson received her master’s degree in accounting from Long Island University in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother; two daughters, Lataya Nicole Adams of Los Angles and Latonya Nikkai Adams of Desoto, Texas; two sisters, Vicki Burks of Dallas and Sharon Anderson of Natchez; one brother, Charles Anderson Jr. of Natchez; one brother-in-law, Michael Burks of Dallas; one grandson, Caleb A. Adams of Desoto; a number of half brothers and sisters; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
