MADISON – Services for Rose Mary Price Ford, 85, of Madison, who went home to be with the Jesus, Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Parkway Pentecostal Church, in Madison.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today with a 7:30 p.m. celebration of life service at Parkway Pentecostal Church. Visitation will continue from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church in Jonesville, La.
Burial will be at Heard’s Cemetery, in Manifest, La., under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Ford was born May 27, 1922, in Jena, La., the daughter of Warren Homer and Lily JoAnn Hudspeth Price. She married D.C. Ford and together they raised seven children. Mrs. Ford loved to pray and lived to go to church. She was a kind and gentle Christian whose church membership was shared between Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church, in Jonesville, and Parkway Pentecostal Church in Madison. She always had a beautiful flower garden and spent her time gardening, canning vegetables and making jelly.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Glen Dale Ford; and her parents.
Survivors include her four daughters, Alice Pearl Matthews of Jonesville, Betty Rose Herrington of Meridian, Sandra Kay Dillon of Madison and Nelda Joe Ford Falley of Bogalusa, La.; two sons, Clifton D. Ford and Paul D. Ford, both of Jonesville; two sisters, Vivian Brooks of Houston and Bessie Smith of Jonesville; two brothers, Ben Morris of Manifest and Sam Morris of Sandia, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkway Pentecostal Church, 1620 Mannsdale Road, Madison, MS 39110.
