FERRIDAY – Services for Ernest Raymond Edwards, 67, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital, in Alexandria, La., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Doty Road Church of God with Bro. Kelly Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Edwards was born Oct. 5, 1940, in Monterey, the son of Willie and Amanda Lewis Edwards. He was a graduate of Sevier High School and was a retired bus driver for the City of Los Angeles. Mr. Edwards was a Vietnam veteran. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 536 of Ferriday.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Edwards.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Piercefield Edwards; one son, Raymond Edwards; one daughter, Felicia Edwards, all of Los Angeles; his mother; one brother, Willie B. Edwards, both of Ferriday; three sisters, Lula E. Grayson of Ferriday, Sadie E. Fletcher of Columbia, Md. and Suebretta E. Clay of West Covina, Calif.
