FROGMORE – Services for Andrew Jefferson Sr., 65, of Clayton, who died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Riverland Medical Center, in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church, in Frogmore, with the Rev. L.B. Oliver officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Jefferson was born July 9, 1942, in Frogmore, the son of Mack and Emma Watkins Jefferson.
He was preceded in death by his father and one son, Andrew Jefferson Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy Townsend Jefferson; his mother, Emma Watkins Jefferson of Ferriday; three sons, Earl Jefferson and wife, Ruthie, and Melvin Jefferson, all of Clayton, and Ricky Jefferson and wife, Marilyn, both of Ferriday; three daughters, Virginia Green and husband, Johnny, and Flora Holmes and husband, Houston, all of Clayton, and Marilyn Jefferson of Ferriday; three brothers, Roosevelt Jefferson and wife, Grace, both of Oakland, L.V. Jefferson and wife, Bobbie, and Calvin Jefferson and wife, Diane, all of Ferriday; six sisters, Alice Jefferson, Elizabeth Jones and husband, Ebozy, Ethel Jackson, Leola Harbor and husband, Jimmy, all of Ferriday, Emma Watkins of Houston and Lillie M. Burks of Kenner, La.; one uncle, Willie James Watkins of Ferriday; 25 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
