FERRIDAY – Services for Charlie Williams, 85, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Ferriday, who died Friday, March 14, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital, in Kansas City, Mo., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Fred Schiele officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Williams was born Aug. 30, 1922, in Ferriday, the son of Ed Duley and Pearlie Williams Evans. He was retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City. Mr. Williams was a World War II veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Budd Ross.
Survivors include his wife, Lucinda Griggs Williams; special niece and caregiver, Willie Palmer of Kansas City, Mo.; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Ferriday and Vidalia areas.
