Cornelius Bass

NATCHEZ – Services for Cornelius “Bubba” Bass, 75, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Baptist Church, in Selma, with Pastor Joseph Gibson officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Bass was born June 27, 1932, in Franklin County, the son of Althia Sessions and Monroe Bass. He was a retired as a truck driver from the Blain Company. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Roosevelt Bass Sr., Arthur Hunt and Vernon Hunt.
Survivors include his wife, Mary R. Bass; two sisters, Lillie B. Hunt and Lula Gilmore; seven sons, Curtis Swayze of Pekin, Ill., Arthur Richardson Jr. and wife, Grace, Sam Richardson and wife, Dora, all of Roxie, Willie Richardson and wife, Pamela, Michael Richardson and wife, Karen, Karl Richardson and wife, Sandral, and Tony Richardson and wife, Teresa, all of New Orleans; four daughters, Cora Manuel of Dallas, Sherry Brown and husband, Robert, both of McComb, Julia Clark and husband, Charlie, and Brenda Russell, all of Natchez; 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
