FROGMORE – Services for Andrew “Coony” Banks, 82, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the Veterans Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James Baptist Church, in Frogmore, with the Rev. L.B. Oliver officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Banks was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Lorman, the son of Ephram and Georgia Baker Banks. He was a retired logger. Mr. Banks was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include five sons, Alton Banks, Albert Banks, Ephem Banks, Raymond Banks and Chris Davis; five daughters, Ethel Banks, Romania Banks, Linda Leonard, Daisy Leonard, all of Ferriday, and Mildred Banks of Hot Springs, Ark.; three stepsons, William Leonard and Bobby Leonard, both of Ferriday, and Robert Leonard of North Carolina; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
