NATCHEZ – Services for Alex Martin King, 57, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church, in Sibley, with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. King was born Feb. 11, 1951, in Natchez, the son of Willie and Celeste King. He was educated in the Natchez-Adams School District and was employed with R.W. Delaney as a truck driver. He was a member of the Mount Sinai Baptist Church where he served on the usher board. Mr. King was also a member of the Home Support Society. He loved fishing and attending rodeos.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Olegrette K. Wallace.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie D. King; one daughter, Victoria S. King; one son, Gregory D. Reynolds and wife, Angela; three granddaughters, Kassie, Varnecia and Ciara; one grandson, Lorenzo; one great-granddaughter, Kassidy; one goddaughter, Tania Stewart; one godson, Jamie Madison of Jackson; two sisters, Estelle Minor of Natchez and Eddie Mae Stewart and husband, Joseph, both of Sibley; five brothers, Willie King Jr. and wife, Juanita, Scott King and wife, Veronica, Roger King and wife, Michelle, and Louis King, all of Sibley, and James Lee King of Natchez; one adopted brother, Eddie Johnson of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Crisceda Seals of Philadelphia, Pa.; three brothers-in-law, Leonard Wallace, Melvin Harris and Willie January, all of Natchez; four aunts, Julia McFarland, Mary Dixon and husband, Robert, Rosie Lyles and husband, Early, all of Natchez, and Janice Washington of West Wego, La.; two uncles, Barnes Washington of Natchez and Joe Washington of Sibley; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joe Ivory, Elbert King, Isaac King, Wayne King, Romallis Minor, Cedric Reed and Joe Washington.
Honorary pallbearers will be his son, godson, nephews and brothers.
