NATCHEZ — This afternoon natchezdemocrat.com readers will have one more way to get information about news and events in the Miss-Lou.
In addition to the many features already available, natchezdemocrat.com adds a new chat feature that will allow readers to submit their own questions to people who help shape the news.
To kick off the new feature, Sally Durkin from the Natchez Convention and Visitors Bureau will be answering questions at 3:30 p.m. about the proposed $2 hotel assessment that is on the June 3 ballot.
Friday afternoon, the two mayoral candidates will answer questions. Independent candidate Chick Graning will be online at 2:30 p.m. Democratic candidate Jake Middleton will then follow at 3:30 p.m.
Registered users can submit their questions in advance by going to www.natchezdemocrat.com/chats and then by clicking on the chat’s “submit a question” link.
Online readers can watch the conversation live or can read transcripts of the chats that will be archived on the Web site.
The conversation will be moderated by the sites moderators who will retain editorial control and keep the chat flowing smoothly.
In an effort to save time, duplicate questions will not be asked. Inappropriate questions and questions with obscene language will be rejected.
