Natchez Dixie Youth baseball in full action Thursday night

NATCHEZ — In 7-and-8 year-old Dixie Youth play, United Mississippi Bank rolled over Church Hill, beating them 13-3. Walker Allen, Beau Stahlman and Cole Switzer all recorded homeruns for UMB. Brannon Conn, Hunter Voss, and Andrew Porter added to the offense, Conn with a triple while Voss and Porter each hit doubles. J.D. Frasier doubled for Church Hill and Geno Walker laced two doubles.
El Toro and East Auto faced off again with only pride on the line in the 9 and 10 year-old division. El Toro came away with a 14-12 win. El Toro jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but East battled right back to tie the game at three.
El Toro quickly scored four more but the resilient East squad chipped away to take the lead eight to seven off of Brody Cole’s bat. Christopher White, who went three for three with two doubles and a triple, batted in the winning run for El Toro. Prior to the game, El Toro clinched the league and finished the season at 10-3.
In the 11 and 12 year-old division, Sports Center defeated Whittington Insurance by a final of 9-3. Pitcher Brandon Ross went the distance for Sports Center, striking out 10 in the process. He aided his own cause by going 2-for-4 at the plate, including a double and two RBIs. Sports Center will play Coca Cola Monday with the championship hanging in the balance.
Also in the 11 and 12 year-old league, Premo Stallone conquered Redd Pest by a final of 15-3. Scott Floyd, the started and finisher for Stalloni, earned three hits in his four plate appearances, scored three times and knocked one run in. In the five-inning game, Floyd struck out eight.
