HARRISONBURG, La. – Graveside services for Robert L. Scott Jr., 58, of Oswego, Ill., formerly of Monterey, La., who died Monday, March 3, 2008, in Aurora, Ill., will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Harrisonburg Cemetery with Father John Hines officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Scott was born Nov. 3, 1949, in Natchez, the son of Robert L. Scott Sr. and Grace Scott.
Mr. Scott grew up in Jonesville and Monterey and attended Louisiana State University, in Baton Rouge, and was a graduate of the University of Southwest Louisiana, Lafayette, with a degree in agri-business. He was a proud and active member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was an avid and lifelong fan of Louisiana State University sports.

Mr. Scott worked in commercial finance for 30 years, most recently with household finance, in Chicago, retiring in 2003. He was an active member of All Saints Anglican Church, in Bolingbrook, Ill., and helped organize Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of DuPage, a group that works with troubled children in the court system. He also helped organize Advent House, a transitional housing program, in conjunction with Trinity Episcopal Church in Wheaton, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Benita Williams Scott; two sons, Jonathan Scott of Oswego and Rob Scott of Naperville, Ill.; one brother, Hal Scott of Alexandria, La.; and three nieces and one nephew.
