FERRIDAY – Services for Edith Marie Carr Cockerham, 72, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in Ferriday, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Preston Holder officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, in Sicily Island, under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cockerham was born June 16, 1935, in Natchez, the daughter of Thomas W. and Annie Bell S. Carr. She was a resident of Ferriday for 56 years and was a member of the Lakeshore Baptist Church in Ferriday.
Mrs. Cockerham was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Thomas Oran Cockerham Sr.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas O. Cockerham Jr., Herman Cockerham and Greg Cockerham, all of Ferriday; four daughters, Annie Taylor and husband, Herman, both of Denham Springs, La., Pamela Cockerham of Lake Charles, La., Tina Gaston and husband, Roger, both of Ferriday, and Theresa Eliznik of Dubai; two brothers, Freddie Carr of St. Joseph, and Ronnie Whitehead of Delhi, La.; one sister, Mary Ruth Clark of Jena; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Chapman, Donnie Butler, Donnie Wesberry, Junebug Cockerham, Ernie Lucas and Jeremy Owens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Darakshan, Chris Vaughn, Darryl Sikes and the staff at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
