JACKSON – Graveside services for William Rife Wade Jr., who died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery VA Medical Center Nursing Home, where he had lived for the past five years, will be at 11 a.m. today at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson.
Mr. Wade was born Oct. 12, 1918 in Vicksburg. He lived many years in Glen Allen and Hollandale and then in Raymond before entering the nursing home. He was educated in the Glen Allen Public Schools, Columbia Military Academy and Vanderbilt University. Mr. Wade was a World War II veteran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Myers Wade of Hollandale and his second wife, Fay H. Wade of Raymond.
Survivors include his three children, William R. “Buddy” Wade III and wife, Jackie, both of Natchez, Robert M. “Bobby” Wade and wife, Carol Ann, both of Grenda, and Sue W. Baader and husband, Chuck, both of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four stepsons, Phillip, Patrick, Donald and Clint Holmes; and three step-grandchildren.
