NATCHEZ – Services for Jerry “Peter” Campbell, 54, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital, in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Campbell was born June 28, 1954, in Adams County, the son of Eli Campbell and Rena Cameron. Jerry was a 1972 graduate of North Natchez Adams High School. He was an active member of the deacon board, the board of trustees and the Sunday school superintendent of Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Johnson Control, Inc., of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Arlinda Williams Campbell; three children, Antwane Williams, of Atlanta, Kenyon Rashad Campbell, of Dallas, and Keisha Lashonda Campbell of Natchez; mother-in-law, Mytris Williams-Williams of Natchez; one godbrother, Jerry Davis of Dallas; two sisters-in-law, Anna Lisa Williams of Carrolton, Texas, and Beatrice Williams of Rowlett, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Freddie Monroe Williams III of Minneapolis, Minn., and Joe Earl Williams of Natchez; six cousins, Gloria Jean Coulston of Natchez, Rosie Mae Buckles of Roxie, Ann Reed and Dorothy Cameron, both of Meadville, Mary Alice Burks of Ridgeland, Clyde Cameron of Tacoma, Wash., and Jethro Cameron of Prairieville, La.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church and employees of Johnson Control, Inc.
