NATCHEZ — Services for J. Patton (Pat) Shehan, 63, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 24, after battling cancer, at his residence, are incomplete at this time. A memorial service will be held at later date at the National Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Shehan was born Dec. 8, 1944 in Andalusia, Ala., the son of Comer B. and Helen Everage Shehan.
Mr. Shehan was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam where he was an electric power production specialist and a member of a band.
He was also an accomplished musician, artist and photographer. He moved back to Natchez from Duluth, Minn., in 2004 where he owned and operated Time Path Fine Arts photography and arts studio. He was an active member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and was especially driven to promote Natchez by greeting tourists with his banjo at Natchez Under-the-Hill, researching Civil War History and the beauty of the Old South.
Mr. Shehan was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He was survived by his wife, Linda Shehan, of Natchez; two daughters, Donya Shehan-King and husband, Mike, of Superior, Wisc., Lara Erickson of Eden Prairie, Minn.; four grandchildren, Zack, Mylie, Mikalya and Gabriel King, of Superior,; brother, S. Daniel Shehan, of Savannah, Ga.; mother in law, Rachel Maki, of Duluth; his special aunt Myrtle Welch, of Andalusia, and many cousins and friends.
The family extends a special thank you to the VA Clinic in Jackson and Hospice Ministries in Natchez.
