NATCHEZ — Adrian L. Sharp’s ATV ride Friday evening took a turn for the worse.

Sharp, who is from Clayton, La., was riding a 3-wheeler on Louisiana 567 in Catahoula Parish when he lost control and hit a tree, Louisiana State Police officials said.

The initial collision threw sharp off the ATV and into another tree.

Sharp was wearing a helmet, but was still seriously injured.

“This is just another terrible example of why ATVs should not be operated on the roadway, Trooper Scott Moreau said.
