The clock is ticking and the countdown has begun.

Plans are almost complete for the North Natchez High School Ramaganza, which is scheduled for Aug. 29 through Sept. 1 for members of the graduating classes of 1971 through 1989.

Mighty Rams, you have until Friday to pay your $75 fee to be included in the activities. Fun-filled activities are being planned for you and your family.

Our weekend includes the following:

7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29 — Meet and greet, registration, pep rally and bonfire at the Steckler Multipurpose building next to Natchez High School.

8:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 30 — Continuation of registration and brunch at North Natchez (now Robert Lewis Middle School).

Roll call of classes and class business meetings will occur during this time. Prizes will be given to the class with the largest number of registered members present.

11:30 a.m. — African American heritage tour in Natchez

7 p.m., Saturday — Ramaganza Grand Banquet at the Natchez Community Center

11 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 31 — Memorial and worship service at Zion Flowers Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Drive. The Rev. Jerry Baldwin will be the minister in charge, and former North Natchez choir members and classmates who would like to participate will make up the choir.

3:30 p.m. — The North Natchez Memorial Ride, a motorcade, will begin. Greg West will be in charge, and all who plan to participate will have to have cars and trucks identified. The motorcade will line up at the old Wal-Mart parking lot. Flags for the cars will be sold for $10. The motorcade will travel down St. Catherine Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Street, all the way to the Youth Center for the picnic.

We can say our goodbyes at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Shoney’s for a Dutch treat breakfast. We hope to see you there.
