Lula Gilmore

NATCHEZ – Services for Lula Gilmore, 64, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Hunts Cemetery, in Meadville, under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Gilmore was born Jan. 24, 1944, in Natchez, the daughter of Nick Hunt and Althea Sessions Hunt. She was employed by J.C. Penney Company as a sales clerk.
Ms. Gilmore was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served as a choir member.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Vernon Hunt and Cornelius Bass.
Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Gilmore of Natchez; one son, Darryl Gilmore and wife, Regina, both of Spartanburg, S.C.; six grandchildren, James Gilmore,Tamera Gilmore, Brandon Gilmore, Kayla Gilmore, Dekena Holmes and Antonio Brooks; one great-grandchild, Jamiyah Gilmore; one godson, Darrius Jackson of Natchez; stepdaughter, Tawyna Lyles of Jackson; two special friends, Hazel Crawford and Alberta McDuffie, both of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
