NATCHEZ – Services for Ora Lee Griffin Kaho, 61, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kaho was born Feb. 21, 1947, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Griffin Sr. She was retired from Thompson Headstart as food service supervisor.
Mrs. Kaho was member of Bethelem Baptist Church where she served as senior choir president and chairperson of the food committee. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Adell Griffin Sr.; and one brother-in-law, Michael Blanton.
Survivors include her husband, Herman “Mac” Kaho; five children, Ronnie Griffin and wife, Kim, Larry Griffin and wife, Penny, Laronda Griffin and companion, Jesse, Lavatrice Smith and companion, Donald, and Kenisha Kaho, all of Natchez; five stepchildren, Timothy Kaho, Detrice Kaho, Sharon Kaho, Barron Kaho and David Kaho, all of Fayette; six brothers, Roosevelt White and wife, Mary, both of Chicago, James Martin and companion, Darlene, Monroe Griffin and companion, Jackie, Theodore Griffin and wife, Mary, and Johnnie Griffin and wife, Loraine, all of Natchez, and Tony Griffin and wife, Katherine, both of Rayville, La.; four sisters, Barbara Hayes and husband, Thomas, both of Chicago, Beatrice Collins and husband, Ricky, Edna Blanton and Angela Thompson and husband, Lavan, all of Natchez; four brothers-in-law, the Rev. Charles Kaho and wife, Emma, Donald Kaho and wife, Edith, Patrick Kaho and wife, Betty, and Ronald Kaho and wife, Mary, all of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Shirley Kaho of Natchez; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one goddaughter, Leah Reneé Robinson of Natchez; a special cousin, Tracy Tyler; five special friends, Laura Whitley, Eliza Johnson, Almita Dorsey, Mable Champ and Velma Nelson; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kim Singleton, Clarence Singleton, David Crosby, Lavell Whitley, Earnest Jonest, Kenny Wayne Beamer, Alvin Frisby, Quitman Fitzgerald, Undra Washington and Frederick Collins.
