NATCHEZ — A Natchez man received a myriad of charges after being arrested Sunday night.

Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said officers were out looking for Jessie Davis, 27, 209-A Dumas Drive, for some outstanding warrants.

“They found him in a vehicle, tried to stop him (but) he refused to pull over,” Mullins said.

Finally, Davis pulled over at his house and as officers were approaching, they saw him throwing out multiple small bags of what was reportedly marijuana, Mullins said.

“He resisted arrest and officers arrested him at the scene,” he said.

Davis was charged with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, misdemeanor fleeing law enforcement, bench warrant for driving under the influence (first offense,) simple assault (domestic violence,) and four counts of felony Medicaid fraud.

Back in 2005, Mullins said Davis is alleged to have used his child’s Medicaid card to receive medical services and prescription medications.

The domestic violence charge was in 2005 and the DUI charge was in September 2004.

Davis was released on a $28,418 cash and property bond.
