Flooding, power outages reported on coast

PEARL — As Hurricane Gustav moves across the Mississippi coastal areas, residents are reporting power outages and flooding.
As of 10:22 a.m., the lower six counties in Mississippi including Pearl River, Stone, George, Hancock, Harrison and Jackson had 11,124 reported power outages. Hancock had 1,466; Harrison had 7,977; Jackson had 1,272; Pearl River 407; Stone 3.
At 10:40 a.m., Jackson County has a curfew in effect. Nobody will be allowed on the roads from dusk until dawn. Harrison and Hancock are also have a curfew.
Flooding and damage are being reported to MEMA throughout the day. As of 10 a.m., an abandoned building collapsed in Gulfport at the 1300 block on 27th Avenue.
Flooding continues to be an issue throughout the three coastal counties. Highway 90 in Harrison County is still closed as is Highway 90 in Pearlington in Hancock County.
Highway 43/603 south of I-10 is closed because of flooding.
In Biloxi Bayview Avenue is flooded at Forrest Avenue.
