NATCHEZ — Services for Avis Corinne “Pinkie” Mauldin Wilson, 79, of Natchez, who died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at her residence, were held at noon Monday, Sept. 1, at Cliff Temple Baptist Church where the Rev. Russell Wagoner and Kenneth Mauldin officiated.
Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilson was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Hampton, Ark., the daughter of Thomas and Vercia Mauldin.
She was a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church and the Kingston Homemakers.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dorphus Wilson; and two brothers, Idus Mauldin and Randall Mauldin.
Survivors include six children; Marie Wilson Kees and husband, Charles, both of Natchez, Douglas Wilson and wife, Jimmie, both of Garland, Texas, Donald Wilson and wife, Martha, and David Wilson and wife, Jan, all of Natchez; grandchildren, Alan Kees and his wife, Paula, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Britania Kees of Gulfport, Stephanie Cavin and husband, Rustin, Michael Wilson, all of Natchez, Jessica Snyder and husband, Michael, of Hattiesburg, Casey Wilson and Riley Wilson, both of Brandon; great-granddaughter, Cortney Hull of Broken Arrow; one sister, Faye Johnson, of Mt. Vernon, Mo.; four brothers, W.E. “Red” Mauldin and his wife, Lillian, of Natchez, Thomas Mauldin and his wife, Joyce, of West Plains, Mo., Kenneth Mauldin and his wife, Brenda, of Atkins, Texas, James Mauldin and his wife, Thelma, of Durham, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Juanita Wilson, of Magnolia, Ark.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were David Upton, Lee Gillespie, James “Doodle” Smith, Randy Jordan, Dorwin Robinson and Danny Goldman.
Mrs. Wilson’s family would like to thank Hospice Ministries and truly special caregivers Roxie Brown and Willie Mae Jackson. Memorials are requested to be given to Cliff Temple Baptist Church, Alzheimer’s Association or breast cancer research.
