Natchez — Carolyn Verucchi of Natchez, a member of Natchez Adams Auxiliary #9573 attended the 95th National Convention of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Aug. 16-21.

She is serving a two-year term as representative of Louisiana and Mississippi on the National Council of Administration, which governs the Auxiliary between national conventions.

A highlight of the convention was the announcement of the outstanding department presidents in the 11 membership groups at the national president’s luncheon on Monday followed that afternoon by the presentation of the ladies auxiliary’s national awards and scholarship winners.

Other highlights included the opportunity for members to view the five winning patriotic art entries as well as the buddy poppy displays throughout the week-long convention in addition to attending several joint events with the VFW. such as the patriotic rally on Tuesday evening.
