FERRIDAY – Services for Carby N. Paris, 87, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou with the Rev. Gary Howington, the Rev. Todd Tucker and the Rev. Preston Holder officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Natchez, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Paris was born March 12, 1921, in New Era, La., the son of William and Beulah Paris. He was retired from International Paper Company where he was a bleach plant operator.
Mr. Paris was a member of the Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou. He also proudly served his country during World War II in the U. S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wesley Paris and W. D. Paris; and three sisters, Olga Paris, Nell Hebron and Robie Pecanty.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jessie Wrinkle Paris; two daughters, Judith Bingham and husband, Tommy, both of Clayton, and Ann Goodman and husband, Jeffery, both of Ferriday; five grandchildren, Cindy Bales and husband, Joseph, both of Beaumont, Texas, Gayla Howington and husband, Eddie, both of Hernando, Bethani Goodman of Ferriday, Trey Bingham and Tim Bingham, both of Fort Worth, Texas; and four great-grandchildren, Carly R. Bales, J. Cyle Bales, Haley Howington and Hayden Howington.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Bales, Eddie Howington, Trey Bingham, Tim Bingham, J. Cyle Bales and Hayden Howington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Rushing, Richard Walters, Tommy Barron, Ellis Taylor, Kyler McNeely, Dr. Kevin Ingram and Coney Bryan.
