NATCHEZ – Services for Richard Roy Minor, 86, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Friday at St. Andrew African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Minor was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Natchez, the son of John Sr. and Elnora Rowan Minor.
Mr. Minor served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard Robinson; six brothers, Audley, John Jr., Ferd, Lenard, Sam and Rudolph Minor; and two sisters, Mary Williams and Marie Ware.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Gladys A. Minor; two daughters, Helen Robinson and Jennifer Minor; four sons, Lesley Robinson, Ronnie Minor, Ricky Minor and Steven Minor; one stepdaughter, Debra Harvey; two stepsons, Herman Sylvester and Anthony Sylvester; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
