HARRISONBURG, La. – Services for Louise Myrtle Austin, 81, of Harrisonburg, who died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at LaSalle General Hospital, in Jena, La., will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Birds Creek Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Siloiam Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Austin was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Harrisonburg, the daughter of Clarence and Lessie Jones Coker. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Austin; her parents; one daughter, Elizabeth Austin; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Austin Townsend and husband, Wayne, both of Harrisonburg, Pat Austin of Brandon and Jennie Allen of Jena; three sons, John Austin of Harrisonburg, Carl Austin of Vicksburg and Earl Ray Martin of Wisner, La.; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Virginia Townsend of Harrisonburg and Dollie Young of Olla, La.; and a number of great-nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be John Austin, Howard Morgan, Marty Joe Chapman, Wayne Townsend, Scotty Boothe, Johnny Earls, Curtis Butler and Rusty Boothe.
