FERRIDAY – Services for Charles W. White, 83, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sycamore Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Cullum officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. White was born June 7, 1925, in Texas, the son of Charles White and Virgie Jewell Andrews White. He was retired from International Paper Company with over 40 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and served as a deacon of the Sycamore Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith “Babydoll” White; his parents; and one sister, Sadie May Flemming.
Survivors include two sons, David White Sr. and wife, Inez, and Gary White Sr. and wife, Pam, all of Vidalia; two daughters, Charlene Freeman and Delois Leah White, both of Ferriday; one brother, Tony Joe White of Tennessee; three sisters, Billie Faye Johnson of Bastrop, La., Shirley Faye Strange of Mer Rouge, La. and Frieda Hinsley of Tennessee; six grandsons, Rob Nolan, Gary Wayne White Jr., David White Jr., Mark White, Ben Daniels Jr. and Cody W. White; and six granddaughters, Sunni Freeman Branstetter, Amy Nicole Jerningan, Misty Loraine Britt, Sarah Elizabeth Daniels, Rachel Leah Caldwell and Alicia Dawn White.
Pallbearers will be members of the Sycamore Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Sycamore Baptist Church.
