Mable Ratcliff

EVA, La. – Services for Mable Emma Crouch Ratcliff, 87, of Monterey, who died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, in Monterey, will be at 10 a.m. today at Eva Church of God with Brother Lloyd Trisler, Brother Kevin Simms, Brother Brad Crooks and Brother Joe Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Ratcliff was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Eva, the daughter of Issac and Maggie Thompson Crouch. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Ratcliff was a member of the Jonesville Church of God where she served as song leader and was very involved in all activities at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe L. “Jay” Ratcliff; her parents; and four brothers, Rodney, Amos, Eugene and Herbert Crouch.
Survivors include one son, Billy Joe Ratcliff and wife, Carolyn; one daughter, Sheila Ratcliff Paul and husband, Pervon, all of Monterey; five grandchildren, Annie Ratcliff Sance and husband, Glynn, Jennie Ratcliff Rogers and husband, Tim, Rebecca Ratcliff Simmons and husband, Ralph, Jan Paul and Jessica Paul; three sisters, Anita Poole, Carol McKey, both of Monterey, and Alyne White of Mayna, La.; and three great-grandchildren, Hanah Sance, Austin and Britt Overton.
Pallbearers will be Britt Overton, Ralph Simmons, Johnny McKey, Jamie White, Eddie Poole, Gene Storey Crouch, Tommy “Red” Tiffee and Tommy Millican.
Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Overton, Dave and Dianne Fancher, Rodney Calhoun, Jack Aswell, James Miller Crouch, James Lee Paul, Ed Rutledge, Clifton Harris and Ray Routon.
