VIDALIA — The State of Louisiana is looking for a few good people to open their hearts and homes to a child in need.

Many children are abandoned, neglected, abused or otherwise victims of circumstance, and there is currently a shortage of certified foster families to take them in until their situations stabilize, according to a statement from the Office of Community Services.
