JACKSON — The Mississippi Department of Transportation would like to announce the following traffic alert to motorists traveling in Adams County.

Beginning today, crews will close the westbound right lane of the Mississippi River Bridge at Natchez. This closure will begin at 6 a.m. and extend through 7 p.m. daily except Sundays.

The purpose of the lane closure is to allow crews to clean the bridge. Once crews have completed the cleaning process in the right lane of the bridge, they will shift to the left lane of the bridge in order to continue the cleaning process. The work is expected to be completed by Jan. 14.
