Trinity boys, girls victorious

BAKER, La. — The Trinity Saints were in a dog fight with Central Private for one half Saturday evening, but pulled away in the second half to take a 73-52 victory.
The Saints were outscored by the Rebels in the second quarter and led only 35-31 at halftime.
However, Trinity outscored Central Private 16-11 in the third quarter and then pulled away for good in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Rebels 22-11 in the final eight minutes.
Trinity upped its record to 8-2 with the win.
Andrew Johnson led the way for the Saints with 22 points while Brandon Daggs scored 18 and Jackson Bryant had 12.
Central Private was led by Lance Wicker’s 22 points.
Trinity girls 47, Central Private 17
BAKER, La. — The Lady Saints jumped out to a huge early lead and never looked back, as they blew out Central Private by 30 points.
Trinity led 12-2 after one quarter and had a 25-6 lead at halftime.
The Lady Saints expanded their lead to 36 points after three quarters before taking their foot off the gas in the fourth period.
Madelyn Cross led the Lady Saints with 17 points while Caroline Ketchings scored 15 and Bethany Ogden chipped in with seven.
Central Private was led by Haley Ussery with seven points.
The Lady Saints’ record now stands at 8-6.
WCCA boys 61,
Amite School Center 25
LIBERTY — Wilkinson County Christian had no problem disposing of Amite School Center Saturday, taking a 40-10 halftime lead en route to a 36-point victory.
Todd Gonda and Tip McKenzie led the way for the Rams as they both scored 17 points. Luke Whittaker also scored in double figures for WCCA, as he chipped in with 12.
Lucas Felder led Amite School Center with 11 points.
WCCA upped its record to 7-3 with the victory.

LIBERTY — The Lady Rams built such a big lead after three quarters, they could afford to coast home against the Lady Rebels.
WCCA led 46-14 after three quarters before clearing the bench in the fourth quarter and letting ASC make the final score a little bit more respectable.
The Lady Rebels outscored WCCA 23-9 in the final period, but it was much too late.
WCCA had a balanced scoring attack, led by Allie Fontenot’s 12 points. Hannah Ashley scored 10 while Caroline walker scored nine and both Terri Fisher and Mary Claire Netterville chipped in with eight.
The Lady Rams upped their record to 7-4 with the victory.
