NATCHEZ— Services for Joanette Davis Jones, 64, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Saah Buckman, SSJ officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m.
Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Natchez, the daughter of Johnnie A. Davis and Purnella Davis Harris. She attended St. Francis Catholic School. She was employed by Howard Brothers and Fred’s as a customer service representative and cashier.
Mrs. Jones was a full-time dedicated parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed shopping, people, being involved with her children and grandchildren’s activities, reading, watching television and solving word puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and stepfather, James “Pete” Harris.
Survivors include her husband, Willie James Jones; two sons, Gregory Jones and wife, Lawanda, and Carl A. Jones and wife, Marcelle, all of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Gwendolyn L. Parker of Natchez; one sister, Mary Louise Dent and husband, Al Wash, both of Natchez; one brother, Willie Anthony Davis and wife, Genia, both of New Orleans; eight grandchildren, Gregory Carter, Michelle Jones, Bianca Jackson, Claude Jackson, Chris Jones, Cameron Jones, Jasmine Jones and Seth Parker; six great-grandchildren, Josiah Dixon, Jaden Michael Ross, Gabriel Jones, Armani Jones, Germaine Jones and Ga’Kobie Jones; two brothers-in-law, Moses Woods Sr. and Albert Jones and wife, Juanita, all of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Jessie Murphy and husband, George, both of Kansas City, Mo; one godchild, Rita Ransom; three special friends, Pat Patterson, Joanna Butler and Dora Williams; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Greg Carter, Claude Jackson, Chris Jones, Cameron Jones, Moses Woods Jr. and Michael T. Stewart.
