Unwelcome trash clutter yard

On a regular basis, I find myself picking up trash that people throw out of passing cars on my street.

Among the unwelcomed trash are the regular advertising papers that seem to be so freely distributed within the area. If you can be fined for throwing cans or other trash from your automobile; then why isn’t the same fine appropriate for the people who throw the unwanted advertising papers in our yards and along the streets.

Some get picked up, but many just become part of the litter. Am I the only one who considers this unwanted material trash? To me, the people who distribute this unwanted material to our neighborhoods are no different than the person who drives by and throws a fast-food wrapper out the window.

Both are a form of advertising. The only apparent difference is that with one type, you can be ticketed for littering and with the other; you are free to dump your unwanted trash in every neighborhood.

If I knew who threw the advertising fliers in my neighborhood, then I would be tempted to save a batch to dump in their yard. Maybe we just need to save this unwanted trash for delivery to City Hall.

City leadership must like this type of trash, and they would certainly be welcomed to the portion that lands in my yard and driveway each week.
