MEADVILLE — Services for Will Wimberly Sr., 76, of Roxie, who died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Southwest Medical Center in McComb, were Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Seale and the Rev. Cleatus Moak officiating.
Mr. Wimberly was born March 16, 1932, in Coushatta, La., the son of Sam Wimberly and Omie Bamburg Wimberly. He was a retired oil field worker with Chevron. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he served as the adult Sunday school leader and was a member of the choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; one grandson; three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Glascock Wimberly; one son, Will Wimberly Jr. of Roxie; one daughter, Carla Dean Desport and husband, Nathan, both of Buras, La.; two sisters, Ellen Miller of Natchez and Sally Phillips of New Orleans; sister-in-law, Delores Wimberly, which was his twin brother’s wife, of Roxie; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
