Historical society to have annual banquet

NATCHEZ — The Natchez Historical Society will host its annual January Banquet on Tuesday, Jan. 27 with a presentation by Forrest Lamar Cooper titled “Natchez Through Vintage Postcards.”
Forrest Lamar Cooper, a fifth generation Mississippian, resides in Florence with his wife Donna.
He is a graduate of Florence High School and attended the University of Mississippi and Mississippi College.
In addition to compiling a collection of over 10,000 pre-1920 Mississippi postcard views, 4,600 of which have been acquired by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, his other activities include, writing a regular bi-monthly article titled “Looking Back” for Mississippi Magazine since the magazine began publication in 1979; co-publishing the book Jackson The Way We Were in 1982; writing and publishing Mississippi Trivia booklets I, II, III and IV; and the desk calendar “In Hometown Mississippi” and the “Mississippi Matters of Fact” calendars.
The banquet is at 6:30 p.m. at the Eola Hotel. The cost is $22.
Dues are also payable at that time at the rate of $10 individual; $20 couple and new members are always welcome.
