FERRIDAY — Services for Janet Marie Gordon Young, 49, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Ferriday, who died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Ferriday.
Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Young was born Feb. 20, 1959, in Ferriday, the daughter of Sonclair and Maggie Jones Gordon. She was retired from Louisiana State University as a custodian.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, John Young; one son, Joseph Gordon and fiancée, Veronica Roddy, both of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Samuel Gordon and wife, Sharon, Donnell Gordon and T.J. Jones, all of Ferriday; two sisters, Ophelia Mason and husband, Ernie, and Flora Frazier, all of Baton Rouge; and one grandchild, Jaquan Gordon of Baton Rouge.
