Your Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the treasurer of the State of Mississippi, Tate Reeves, will be speaking at a luncheon at 11:30 Tuesday, at The Grand Soleil.

According to Mr. Reeves, “During these challenging economic times, Mississippi’s revenue outlook may get worse before it gets better. It is of the utmost importance that lawmakers continue to keep a tight rein on our debt and not raise taxes.

The worst thing the legislature could do in times of economic uncertainty is ask Mississippi families to send more of their hard earned money to Jackson.”

The Office of the Mississippi State Treasurer serves as the watchdog for the taxpayers, advocating fiscally conservative stewardship of public finances.

Mr. Reeves has called on the legislature to not implement any new taxes and create no new debt. He will address the issues of our state’s economy, as well as provide an update on the legislative session now in progress.

The mission of the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce is to provide an independent, representative voice for business and to create a positive business environment.

This luncheon is one of the many Chamber events that will offer speakers on timely topics, as well as provide areas businesses with an opportunity to hear firsthand how their businesses may be affected by what is going on both nationally and statewide.
