NATCHEZ — Services for Floyd Arnold Jr., 79, of Natchez, who died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Dr. Edgar Wright officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Arnold was born June 19, 1929, in Franklin County, the son of Floyd Arnold Sr. and Artie Chandler Arnold.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from International Paper Company after 43 years of service. He was a member of Morgantown Baptist Church where he was a member of Rayford Smith’s Sunday school class.
Mr. Arnold was a past member of the Mississippi Cattleman’s Association and served on the Adams County Soil and Water Conservation District Board and the Adams County FSA Committee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Acey Arnold, Charles Arnold and Rodney Arnold; one sister, Agnes Allen; and one half-brother, Leroy Arnold.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Belle Arnold; two daughters, Angela Gay Smith of Camden and Kim Arnold and husband, Trey, both of Canton; one granddaughter, Dianna K. Arnold, of Canton; three brothers, Dwight Arnold and wife, Linda, and Jerome Arnold, all of Natchez, and Terry Arnold and wife, Kim, both of Brandon; two sisters, Jeanette Neely and husband, Billy, both of Bentonia, and Shirley McCallister and husband, Barney, both of Natchez; very special friends, the Kyle Sandifer family; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Allen, Luke Arnold, Ritchie Arnold, Terry Arnold Jr., Louie Gilbert and Trey Shipp.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mr. Arnold’s Sunday school class at Morgantown Baptist Church.
