NATCHEZ — Services for Clarence Edward Dossett, 86, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital in Houston, will be at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Buckley and the Rev. Stan Potacki officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be fro 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Dossett was born Nov. 17, 1922, in Sanford, the son of Lewis Allen Dossett and Nancy Anne McDonald Dossett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudel Barnes Dossett; one daughter, Judy Dossett Hendrix; one great-grandson, Andrew Dossett; two brothers, Curtis Dossett and R.B. Dossett; and two sisters, Sue Kasmierski and Mary D’Ingianni.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Dossett; two sons, Robert Edward Dossett and wife, Cheryl, both of Natchez, and Samuel George Dossett and wife, Pam, both of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Marilyn Bowen and husband, Charles, both of Eupora; 13 grandchildren, Sterling Dossett, Randle Dossett, Christopher Dossett and wife, Missy, Guy Dossett and wife, Cleo, Robert Dossett and wife, Jennifer, Thomas “Jody” Dossett and wife, April, Tami Dossett, Jon Loflin and wife, Helen, Paul Loflin and wife, Ofelya, Ryan Sesser, Kathryn Sesser, Brandon Sesser and wife, Amy, and Brent Sesser; 14 great-grandchildren, Jess, Hunter and Tristen Dossett, Irby and Brad Dossett, Austin and Lauren Dossett, Caroline and Olivia Dossett, Dossett Novak, Taylor Dossett, Daley Sesser, Rain Sesser and Blake Loflin; one sister, Vera Grissinger; one brother, Roland Dossett; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sterling Dossett, Jess Dossett, Chris Dossett, Guy Dossett, Ryan Sesser, Brandon Sesser, Brent Sesser and Bobby Dossett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Dossett, Hunter Dossett, Daley Sesser, Irby Dossett and Brad Dossett.
