Nate Salvo III

TERRY — Services for Nate A. Salvo III, 60, who died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at Central Mississippi Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Terry Cemetery under the direction of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Salvo was born on Nov. 29, 1948, in Jackson, the son of Nate A. Salvo Jr. and Mildred “Midge” Salvo.

A graduate of the Murrah High School class of 1966, he continued his education attending LSU where he majored in business and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He later transferred to Ole Miss. He returned to Jackson and married the former Jan Davis, of Terry, and began their family.

After beginning his career as a sales representative in the wholesale clothing industry and Xerox Corporation, Mr. Salvo entered the real estate profession, and 21 years later, he made the seamless transition to the mortgage lending industry in 1996. Two years into the business, he became general manager of a company and was totally responsible for all phases of conventional, FHA and VA loans from originating to closing.

When he joined Executive Mortgage in 2002, Mr. Salvo brought his encyclopedic knowledge of the business, his people skills and famous hands-on work ethic to ensure the best service available to his customers. Mr. Salvo was serving as vice president and senior loan officer.

Mr. Salvo enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, traveling and going to 50s and 60s car shows. He was a devoted New Orleans Saints fan. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Terry.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a cherished son and a beloved grandfather, “Papa,” and brother.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife Jan; one son, Jeffrey Salvo and his wife Cassie, of Madison; four grandchildren, Bailey, Abbey and Logan Salvo and Tessa Shelton; his mother; two sister, Patricia Powers and Cheryl Lester both of Madison and numerous nieces and nephews.
