NATCHEZ — On Tuesday morning local law enforcement agencies, acting in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, conducted raids on two local residences in search of a fugitive.
However, the early morning efforts on Woodlawn Drive and Lower Woodville Road netted no results.
Authorities were searching the two houses in hopes of catching Bryan Campbell, 34, of Chicago.
Metro Narcotics Comdr. Cliff Cox said in the course of a local investigation Campbell’s name came up and was run through a national database.
Cox said it was learned Campbell was wanted by the FBI in Chicago for conspiracy to distribute up to 50 grams or more of crack cocaine.
Cox said the houses in Tuesday’s search belonged to members of Campbell’s family.
Authorities are still looking for Campbell.
“Anyone harboring him will be facing federal charges,” Cox said.
Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said CrimeStoppers and the FBI are both offering cash rewards for tips that result in Campbell’s capture.
Crime Stoppers can be reached at 601-442-5000 and the FBI can be contacted by calling the Natchez Police Department at 601-445-5565.
