WATERPROOF — Services for Gregory Earl Brackens, 49, of Jena, La., formerly of Waterproof, who died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at LaSalle General Hospital in Jena, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Conner officiating.
Burial will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery, in Waterproof, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Brackens was born Aug. 17, 1959, in St. Joseph, La., the son of Johnny Robinson and Rosetta Brackens. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1977 to 1980.
Survivors include three children, Justin, Gregory Jr., and Jocelyn Brackens, all of San Jose, Calif.; three brothers, Carl, Dewayne and George Wilson; one sister, Cassandra Wilson, all of New Orleans; grandmother, Clara Robinson of Waterproof; and two grandchildren.
