GRAND COTEAU, La. (AP) — The St. Landry Parish sheriff says a woman he describes as ‘‘very confused’’ apparently ran into her 11-year-old son on purpose with her sport utility vehicle.
Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said 49-year-old Sandra Joseph of Lafayette was booked Saturday with murder.
He said the boy was dead when deputies were called to a farm outside Grand Couteau on Saturday morning.
The sheriff said Joseph admitted that she hit the boy on purpose.
He described her as ‘‘in a very confused state, possibly from medication, possibly from a mental condition.’’
